KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Raytown police officer shot a suspect Sunday during a call for a “disturbance with a subject who was possibly armed,” according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Raytown officers responded around 5:23 p.m. to the 6000 block of Kentucky Avenue and located the suspect.
"Moments later, during the encounter, one officer fired his duty weapon," MSHP said in a tweet.

The suspect was injured, taken to an area hospital and released into police custody, according to MSHP.
No officers were injured.
MSHP’s Division of Drug and Crime Control will investigate the shooting.
