KANSAS CITY, Mo. — AAA said this year could break records for traveling during the holiday season. Millions and millions of people will be hitting the road or flying to see their loved ones up until January 5th, 2020. This means airports are going to be busy.
"I am going to Minneapolis," said Mark West, who was traveling on Sunday.
"I am headed to Apple Valley, California to visit my family," said Paige Ryan, who was flying to see her family.
More than 500,000 people are expected to fly through KCI for the holidays.
"Those time of year, you see a lot of people who don't travel much, what I call rookie travelers. So, sometimes that can get a little irritable," said West.
Travelers at KCI said some flyers, who have never flown during the holidays before, can make lines long and traveling stressful.
"If you are not prepared, then with the influx of people during the holidays, it can just add a lot of pressure," said Ryan.
So, they have advice for first time flyers.
"Be patient and plan ahead," said Ryan.
"Get to the airport eariler and if you think you are holding up the line, you probably are," said West.
Also remember, tis the season to be jolly to the TSA workers.
