KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Starting Tuesday, any furloughed government workers can take a RideKC bus for free.

Workers just need to show their government ID when boarding a bus and they can ride for free.

“It’s not about politics, it’s about people,” said Robbie Makinen, CEO and President of KCATA, in a statement. “We want to pay it forward and assist those who are hurting by taking a little weight off of their shoulders during this time.”

This applies to all RideKC bus routes serving Kansas City, Wyandotte County, Johnson County and Independence.
