The owner of a once-popular West Bottoms restaurant faces charges in an animal abuse case.
Brian Smith, who ran Rockstar Burgers, is charged in Jackson County Court with animal abuse and sex with an animal.
According to court documents, Smith is accused of recording a woman performing bestiality. Police said the woman in the video told them she does not remember the incident. The court documents also reveal Smith took part in some of the encounters.
Smith also faces charges of second degree domestic assault and armed criminal action in Platte County Court. The trial is set in that case for February 2021.
