Rockhurst teacher fired for social media communication with student

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Rockhurst High School teacher was fired Monday for violating the school's social media policy by communicating with a student.

The school said in a statement that the teacher "had violated the school’s social media policy concerning communications with a student."

The statement also said the school notified law enforcement immediately. It also said the Ombudsman for the Diocese of Kansas City – St. Joseph was notified.

The teacher has not been identified.
