KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Wyandotte County, Kansas, jail inmate escaped from a sheriff's deputy around 3 a.m. Sunday while being treated at a hospital.
Brandon Banister, 34, was taken to the University of Kansas Hospital for medical care on March 19.
Banister was being held on charges of distribution of controlled substances and possession of controlled substances, according to a sheriff's department news release.
He is also was wanted for a parole violation in Missouri.
Banister is white, 5-feet-11 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds.
He was wearing a hospital gown when he fled, according to the news release.
