PREVIOUS | The Bates County, Missouri, Sheriff’s office said Monday that one person died after severe storms caused a tree to crash into a house.
According to a Facebook post, deputies received a call of a tree into a home around 10:30 a.m.
Crews from the Butler, Missouri, and Amsterdam, Missouri, fire departments responded to the scene.
Despite efforts to use chainsaws and a large excavator, one person in the home was pronounced dead.
