Shake Shack sets date for opening of KC store, announces locally-inspired menu items

Posted

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Shake Shack on the Country Club Plaza will open next week.

The restaurant will open its doors at 11 a.m. Sept. 6.

Shake Shack first announced plans to open a Kansas City location in February. It will be located at the corner of 47th and Central in the former Talbots location.

In recent weeks, temporary construction walls were removed, allowing Plaza patrons a sneak peek look at what is to come.

This is Shake Shack’s second location in Missouri. The company opened a St. Louis location in December 2017.

The Kansas City location is adding a few menu items to fit the city.

It will add three different frozen custard concretes:

  • Pie Oh My: Vanilla custard with a slice of Ashleigh's Bake Shop seasonal pie
  • Strawberry Country Crunch: Vanilla Custard, strawberry puree, sugar cone and banana
  • Shack Attack: Chocolate custard, fudge sauce, chocolate truffle cookie dough, Mast Brothers Shake Shack dark chocolate chunks, topped with chocolate sprinkles

It will also sell locally-brewed beers from Boulevard Brewing Company, Torn Label Brewing Company and Cane Brewing.

The first 100 people in the door on opening day receive a free custom T-shirt from Charlie Hustle.
