Shawnee police clear scene after 7-hour standoff

SHAWNEE, Kan. — Shawnee police have cleared the scene near the 6500 block of Cottonwood Drive after a standoff that lasted about seven hours. 

Shawnee Police had been there since 11:10 p.m. Monday night.

Police said they were investigating a pending disturbance in which a person inside a home refused to comply with officers. 

The scene was clear a little after 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. 

Police said the situation has been resolved and there is no danger to the community.
