LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mo. -- Two juveniles are in custody after allegedly choking and beating another juvenile.

According to Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox, the juvenile victim had agreed to walk down a rural road Friday night with the two suspects. When the three juveniles got to a remote location, the two suspects reportedly attacked the victim.

"Once at the remote location, a series of events quickly transpired and included choking the victim multiple times, attempting to tie up the victim with some type of rope and attempted use of heavy tape to secure the victim's limbs. (The) victim also reported being beaten, threatened to be stabbed and intended to be tied up and left to die. At some point, a large rock was used as a weapon in an attempt to strike the victim's head which resulted in injury to the victim," Sheriff Cox wrote in a press release.

The victim was able to avoid being fully restrained, and at one point was forced to agree to kill a different person the suspects allegedly disliked.

The victim was later taken by a parent to an area hospital for treatment and was released.

The two juvenile suspects were taken into custody.

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office also reached out to the family of the other potential victim and confirmed that person was safe.

Sheriff Cox says reports will be submitted to both the juvenile office and Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for consideration of adult criminal charges.

The investigation continues.
