KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person died and another was injured after a shooting near a McDonald's in Independence, police said.
The shooting happened near the McDonald's located off U.S. 40 shortly before 1 p.m. Sunday. Police said one male victim later died at the hospital from his injuries.
Independence police spokeswoman Officer Jodi Grooms said that officers arrived at the location to find two people shot. Both were taken to the hospital.
IPD is looking for a vehicle of interest in the incident. It is described as a white Dodge Journey or Caliber. The license plate is unknown.
