KANSAS CITY, Mo. — It's an annual tradition for many in the metro area: Getting a smoked turkey from Fritz's.
The long line wraps around the building during the holiday season.
For 69-year-old Cynthia Harris, getting a turkey at Fritz's has been a tradition for the past 45 years.
She and her daughter were third in line Wednesday morning. They made their way to the store the day before the Thanksgiving holiday to get what they call, "the best turkey in town."
"It's the best smoked turkey in town and it's so delicious," Harris said. "I don't care anything about the cold weather - it's been ice out here - snow out here, freezing, colder than this and we been out here and I don't mind driving and coming to get it. It's the best."
The store is no longer accepting brought in turkeys to smoke this week. However, you can still purchase one at the store.
It is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
