July 14, 11:00a.m. update: Mr. Whitley has been located by Kansas City police officers in good condition. He will be reunited with his family.
Previous: A Silver Alert was issued for an Overland Park man last seen driving a U-Haul moving van from Fishers, Indiana to Overland Park, Kansas.
Walter Whitley, 84, was driving alone in the truck on Highway 270 around noon. The family was in a different vehicle when heavy traffic caused them to get separated.
Mr.Whitley suffers from early onset Alzheimer's and diabetes. He does not have his medication with him.
Mr.Whitley is 5-foot-9-inches tall and weighs roughly 265 pounds. He is bald and has brown eyes.
The U-Haul truck has an Arizona Registration Plate AE87635.
