MERRIAM, Kan. — A section of a residential street off of Johnson Drive in Merriam is closed after a sinkhole opened up Friday morning.
City officials say Knox Avenue is closed between Johnson Drive and Hocker Drive. The closure is expected to last at least through the weekend.
WaterOne crews have already remained a water main break associated with the sinkhole. Water in the area is safe to drink.
