KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A sinkhole roughly the size of six to seven washing machines has closed the northbound lanes of State Line Road near 100th Street in Kansas City, Missouri.

Video from SKYTRACKER showed both northbound lanes closed and traffic backed up near the intersection of 103rd Street and State Line Road.

A Kansas City Water Department spokesperson said crews have been in the area since Tuesday morning on a myriad of calls, including a 12-inch main break at 100th Terrace and State Line Road and a different break at 97th and State Line Road.

It wasn’t clear if the breaks and sinkholes were related.
