KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Another round of winter weather is coming, but for some South Kansas City residents the old one is still here.
Hunter just off East 90th Terrace still has not been plowed since the last storm. Elizabeth Lawrence-Wait said, “Look at our street. You just slip and slide all the way down it. You can’t get any traction on it whatsoever.”
Initially, the Waits called 311. When they didn’t get a response, they tweeted the city manager. After asking for the address, nothing happened.
@KCMOManager I called 311 this morning because our street is so icy that it cannot be safely navigated. Operator said he has order for plow and salt. 7 hrs later still nothing and the trash truck could not make it up so trash is still sitting out! Hello??

Kansas City Spokesman Chris Hernandez said, “The challenge has been on the side streets, because they're smaller, you can't get through as quickly, there isn't as much sun coming in because of the shade from the trees.”
Plows are set to hit the streets at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
