KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Shawnee Mission School District plans to bring middle and high school students back into the classroom full-time on March 22.
The Shawnee Mission School Board set that target date at their meeting Monday night.
Middle and high school students have been learning in a hybrid model since Jan. 26.
Board members released a comprehensive mitigation and social distancing plan. The plan can be reviewed online.
The board said they are able to return students to full-time in-person learning due to Johnson County's low transmission rate and recent guidance from the Centers for Disease Control.
Elementary students have already been learning in-person.
