KANSAS CITY, Mo. — American Express is working to fix an issue that is preventing some of its customers from receiving their paychecks through direct deposit.

Affected customers include those who use American Express's Personal Savings, Bluebird or Serve.

In a statement to 41 Action News, American Express confirmed there is an issue with one of the company's vendors. It apologized for the inconvenience to it's customers but did not give an estimate on when the service would be restored.

American Express's full statement:

"We're aware of an interruption to direct deposits affecting Personal Savings, Bluebird, and Serve customers. Please know your funds are safe. We're working with our vendor to resolve the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Anthony Lofton from Overland Park, Kansas was one of the customers affected.

He told 41 Action News he waited three days until his money was deposited late Tuesday night.

"To know that there's a problem going on and [the company is] not communicating to me what the problem is, it's frustrating. I am relying on this company to handle my money," said Lofton.
