KANSAS CITY, Mo. — In about two weeks, some Kansas City police officers will be able to write tickets on iPhones.
The Kansas City Police Department is buying 100 iPhone 8 models for 99 cents each.
The devices will be distributed to those in the traffic enforcement unit, the parking control unit and patrol officers who write the most tickets.
The iPhones will be linked to the municipal court system.
According to the monthly traffic summary, KCPD issued 13,017 citations in January 2019, compared with 10,939 in January 2018.
