A procession on Sunday evening will remember those who have lost their lives to murder in Kansas City.
Anti-violence and support group Mothers In Charge invites anyone to participate.
Community members, police officers, and those affected by murder will lead the way, along with local funeral homes who agreed to drive their hearses.
The procession starts at 4 p.m. in front of the East Patrol Division building at 27th and Prospect and ends at 63rd and Prospect. There, they'll release balloons and have a moment of silence at 4:30 p.m.
According to police data, KCMO has had 24 murders so far this year. There were eight murders in the first 10 days of 2016.
The procession coincides with National Crime Victims' Rights Week which runs April 10 - 16.
