KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Less than a day after two young girls were found dead, community members have rallied behind the girls’ family with support.

A family friend set up a GoFundMe pageto help raise money for funeral expenses for the two girls found dead Thursday, 2-year-old Ireland Autumn Jane Ribando and 8-week-old Goodknight Beretta June Ribando.

The fund had already received more than $2,000 in donations Thursday afternoon as the investigation into the girls' deaths continued.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said in a release that they are working with crime scene technicians from the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department and the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office to learn more about what happened.

Deputies were dispatched just after noon on July 4 to the house in the 15600 block of Cameron Road on reports of two children not breathing.
