A man fleeing Kansas City, Kansas police officers jumped into the Missouri River and started swimming Wednesday afternoon.
Police say they began chasing three people in a car after an officer was struck by their vehicle around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Levee Road and Sunshine Road.

All three bailed out of the car and two of the suspects, a man and a woman, were captured. The third jumped into the river to escape.
KCK officers put a boat in the water to rescue the man and called in Kansas City, Missouri police for assistance. At one point, the man was spotted getting out of the water but he jumped back in when he saw a lot of officers.
The third suspect was eventually taken into custody.
