KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Despite the cold and harsh wind, people still showed up to run or walk for the inaugural Talk 2 Me 5K.
They are a local group working to help teens who feel depressed and/or have suicidal thoughts.
The group currently has a program that involves teens helping teens through tough times.
"I just hope [we] get people in our accountability program, which is kids keeping up with other kids," founder Elise DiCarlo said. "They contact their buddies and are in the program twice a week. No emails. No texts. It's all face to face. How are you feeling conversation?”
The group hopes to be in more schools and have more runs to bring teens together.
