KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Winter just doesn’t want to let go.
On Tuesday afternoon, the third storm in less than a week will move into the Kansas City area, prompting the National Weather Service to place the metro under a winter weather advisory from 4 p.m. Tuesday to 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Snow will move into the area after 3 p.m. from south to north, according to the 41 Action News weather team. After 6 p.m., snow will become heavier and more widespread, potentially impacting the evening commute.
Snow will continue to accumulate overnight and linger into Wednesday morning, making slick roads likely for the morning commute.
The Kansas City metro could see between 3 to 5 inches of snow, with higher amounts possible in some areas.
Ice accumulations of up to one-tenth of an inch are also expected with this storm, according to the weather service.
