KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Though Kansas City Chiefs safety Juan Thornhill currently is sidelined due to an injury, he plans to be in the stands as the Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LIV.

While signing autographs Saturday at DICK’s Sporting Goods at Town Center Plaza, Thornill said there’s “no reason” to go to the Super Bowl and not walk away victorious.

“If you get to the Super Bowl and not win the Super Bowl, you basically throw away your whole season,” he said. “It's a big name now, so you got to win it while you're there.”

Thornhill said rehabilitation is going well on his knee, and he believes he’ll be ready for next season. He tore his ACL during a regular season game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Christian Okoye will sign autographs from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at DICK’s Sporting Goods in Lee’s Summit. Wristbands will be distributed beginning at 9 a.m.
