KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Early Friday morning Kansas City Police officers remained on the scene of an officer-involved shooting in the 4000 block of East 68th Terrace.

A police department spokesperson said officers were called to a home on the block just after 10:30 p.m. Thursday for a disturbance involving three armed people trying to break into a residence.

The spokesperson said as officers approached the home, people inside shot at them. The shots forced officers to take cover immediately. More officers responded to assist.

There was an exchange of gunfire and standoff. Police said after a short time, three men came out of the house and were taken into custody. One of the men had a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

No officers were injured.
