KANSAS CITY, Mo. — In two separate shootings Saturday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri, three people were injured.

A 17-year-old victim was walking with a friend near 31st Street and Brooklyn Avenue when a white male pulled up in a dark-colored vehicle and started shooting.

The juvenile was struck by a bullet, but his injuries were determined not to be life-threatening once he received treatment at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

The other two shooting victims are believed to be connected.

Officers were dispatched to a reported shooting in the 5800 block of Wallace Avenue.

Upon arrival, KCPD found one victim with a gunshot wound. The suspected shooter was observed walking away from the area and also had a gunshot wound.

Both parties were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
