KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Hopefully you enjoyed the warm temperatures earlier Thursday.

A strong front barreled through the Kansas City area around lunch time Thursday. In the short term, the front brought rain showers.

Longer term, the front will user in the region’s first brush with winter.

In today's weather blog, KSHB 41 Chief Meteorologist Gary Lezak wrote that temps will tumble into the 40s tonight, with below-average temps into the weekend and into next week.
