LINWOOD, Kan. — Volunteers and family friends were quick to lend a hand to victims of Tuesday night’s tornado in Linwood, Kansas.
The Hahn family rode out the EF-4 tornado underneath the staircase of their home.
"While I prayed everything was going to lift and not hit us, it hit us dead on," Chris Hahn said.
Just hours after the home was leveled, the Hahns and others were back picking up the pieces, many of which were scattered throughout their property, including their farm.

"Pretty much all our clothes all the way out to our pasture, pretty much all the way to our barn, so we’re trying to get a couple rangers and going through there and just picking up all the clothes," Anna Hahn said.
The Hahns said they will rebuild on the hill, but it will never be the same.
"Even if you’re going to rebuild it, you’re not going to bring back the memories," Anna said.
