KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Many people spent part of their morning giving brand new toys to Toys for Tots on Saturday at Union Station.
"GEHA, The KC Chiefs, The Marines and Union Station all got together to provide a safe and socially distanced way to allow Kansas Citians to donate toys for Toys for Tots," Lisa Ketteler, GEHA said. "We are asking for brand new toys for kids of all ages. You don't have to get out of your car. GEHA volunteers will come to your car and take them from you."
Car after car lined up to give away those brand new toys and lend a helping hand during this trying time.
Even while unemployment is still up, people are giving as much as they can because they said simply, that's what people in Kansas City do.
"We take so much for granted when there is [sic] people out there that sometimes don't have what we have. So, it's good to open your heart and share and do what you can for others," said Sandy Murski, who donated on Saturday.
