KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Overland Park police said an accident knocked out the traffic lights at West 135th Street and Antioch Road.

Police said a pickup truck was headed westbound on West 135th Street when it struck a vehicle southbound on Antioch Road.

The truck then struck the signal light pole in the median on the west side of Antioch Road, dislodging the entire pole and signal heads.

All occupants in the vehicles were transported to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

One person is in serious condition.

As a result of the crash, all remaining traffic lights at the intersection were flashing red. The City Public Works Department closed all left turn lanes in all directions.

Warning signs, stop signs and lane closure barriers were posted.

Police asked drivers to allow for an increase in traffic congestion in this area.
