UPDATE JULY 11 11a.m.: The family of Olivia's biological mother is planning a vigil for Olivia at 5p.m. at 34th & Steele in KCK.

Two family members of 3-year old Olivia Jansen are in custody Saturday morning after her body was discovered on Friday in Kansas City, Kansas.

Howard Jansen III, 29, Olivia's father, and 33-year old Jacqulyn Kirkpatrick, Olivia's stepmother, are currently on a 48-hour hold in the Wyandotte County Detention Center, facing potential charges of first-degree murder and abuse of a child.

Those charges have not been formally filed as of Saturday morning.

Law enforcement issued an Amber Alert Friday morning when Olivia Jansen was reported missing.

After hours of searching with assistance from local, state and federal agencies, her body was found in a wooded area in KCK.

A roadside vigil with candles, balloons, and toys has been set up at the corner of 34th and Steele to remember the memory of the 3-year-old.
