Two men killed in Bourbon County crash

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two people were killed in a Bourbon County, Kansas, crash early Friday morning.

The incident happened at 5:30 a.m. a few miles east of Fort Scott.

According to investigators, a 2004 Mercury Sable was traveling west on U54 when it went to pass and struck a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu that was traveling east head on. Both drivers were killed in the collision.

The driver of the Mercury was identified as 29-year-old Brenton Handly of Nevada, Missouri.

The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as 48-year-old Adam Bancroft of Fort Scott, Kansas.
