BELTON, Mo. — Two Belton teenagers were struck and killed by a vehicle just before 8:30 p.m. on Friday on Peculiar Drive.
Belton police officers were called to the area between Cunningham Industrial Parkway and Cambridge Road, where they discovered two males dead at the scene.
Police have yet to identify the victims, but friends are planning a vigil at 6 p.m. Sunday at Belton Memorial Park said Cody Langer and Jacob Zimmer were the pedestrians killed in the incident.
Police were able to contact the driver of the vehicle that killed the teenagers and the vehicle has been located.
The investigation is ongoing and Belton police would not say Saturday if an arrest had been or would be made.
Langer was a student at Belton High School, according to the mother of one of his friends.
He and Zimmer were walking from a nearby McDonald’s to meet up with friends at a residence when they were killed.
