Update | KCPD identified the victim in this case as 64-year-old Keith Gorham.

Original story | Three people were shot and one was killed at 38th Street and Wabash Avenue early Wednesday morning.

Kansas City police were called to the scene around 3:15 a.m. on reports of a crash around Wabash. While there, they heard gun shots.

Officers located the scene in the 3800 block of Wabash and discovered three people had been shot.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene, one person was initially thought to have non-life threatening injures but is now in critical condition and the other received minor injuries.

"Preliminary information at the scene is there was a house party at the residence where the shooting took place," a Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department spokesperson said.

Police also said witnesses may have fled the scene for their own safety. They ask those witnesses to call detectives at 816-234-5043 or the anonymous TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS. \

There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
