UPDATE: The woman who suffered life-threatening injuries has died. She was identified as Tashari Nelson.

Two women were shot, one suffering life-threatening injuries, after an altercation at 37th & Jackson early Sunday morning.
Police say just before 2:30 a.m. three women in their 20s got into a physical altercation at 37th & Jackson.
The fight escalated to gunfire, and two women were shot.
One of the victims was then transported towards Research Medical Center, when the driver called police to report the shooting. The driver then continued on to the hospital. That shooting victim suffered minor injuries.
The other female victim was left at 37th & Jackson.
Police responded to the scene of the shooting and discovered a woman suffering life-threatening injuries after being shot in the head.
She was transported to a hospital via ambulance, and is listed in critical condition.
Police have not yet released the identities of the women, the possible relationship between them, or what caused the altercation.
The investigation continues.
