KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Ahead of the holiday season, UPS says it will hire more than 1,100 people in the Kansas City area for both seasonal and permanent jobs.
In a news release, UPS said it will be hiring in Kansas City for package handlers, delivery and tractor-trailer drivers, and driver-helpers.
Nationally, UPS plans to hire about 100,000 seasonal employees for the holidays.
“We expect another record peak season this year, with daily package deliveries nearly doubling compared to our average of 20 million per day,” UPS Chief Operating Officer Jim Barber said in the release.
Tractor-trailer and package driver jobs start at $20.50 per hour, UPS said. Pay for driver-helpers starts at $16.40 per hour, followed by $14 per hour for package handlers.
UPS is hiring at its Kansas City, Kansas, Lenexa and Edgerton locations.
