Victim stable in Prairie Village burglary, shooting

UPDATE: JUNE 16, 9:00A.M. -  Police say the male victim initially suffered life-threatening injuries, but after surgery he has been upgraded to stable condition.

The search for the suspect continues. 

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. - One person was shot multiple times after interrupting an auto burglary in the 2500 block of 73rd Street late Friday night.

Just after 11:30 p.m. officers were called to a shooting after a homeowner and friend came outside to leave, when they discovered a suspect inside a vehicle in front of the home. 

There was a confrontation with the suspect, and the preliminary investigation indicates the victim was shot multiple times.

The white male suspect with a short haircut, wearing a black t-shirt reportedly fled in a dark colored sedan.

No word yet on the condition of the victim.
