Following the Tuesday morning storms in Kansas City, at least one van got stuck in submerged water.
The van's owner, Robert Ontman, said he had a meeting to go to and missed the caution signs. His van got stuck in the water under a bridge at 9th Street and Hardesty Avenue.

"I should've known better. A little common sense would've helped, but I got in a hurry. I didn't see the caution signs and it looks like it was not as deep as it was," said Ontman.
Often times water is deeper than it appears, which is why it's your best bet to obey caution signs the city puts out for your safety. At this particular intersection, 41 Action News saw more than half a dozen vehicles drive through the high water.
Ontman warned other drivers to learn from his mistake.

"Don't drive in any kind of water because it could've been rushing water and much more dangerous," said Ontman.
Ontman's van would not start. It had to be towed away by the same good Samaritans who pulled his vehicle out of the water.
