KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There's a virtual reality center that is one of a kind in the Midwest, and it's right here in the metro.
FlipSwitch, located at West 20th Street and Washington Street in the Crossroads, turns an entire space into a virtual game.
"What makes it different than the typical VR you do at home is you have the entire space here to walk around the same way you would in real life," FlipSwitch Marketing Manager, Alex Harbolt said.
Harbolt said virtual reality is the next step in technology.
"Right now, there's a lot of architecture firms, a lot of businesses that use VR technology. We're kind of like the arcade version of it. And that's how it's usually known right now is people think of VR of video." Harbot said. "But the technology has many more possibilities than just video games."
Not only is it locally owned, the one year old center also makes some of their own games.
