KANSAS CITY, Mo. — There will be a visitation and funeral next Friday for Olathe Mayor Michael Copeland, whodied unexpectedly Wednesday at the age of 58.
Copeland had served as Olathe’s mayor since 2001, the longest tenure for anyone in that position.
The city of Olathe announced on Twitter that the visitation is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. at the College Church of the Nazarene followed by a funeral from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m.

A private burial will take place after the services at the College Church of the Nazarene, 2020 E. Sheridan St. in Olathe.
