Walmart plans ‘reimagined' space in Lee's Summit

Posted

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The future of the Lee’s Summit Walmart at 1000 NE Sam Walton Lane will look much different than Walmart sites in the past.

The Lee’s Summit location is among eight locations the company has announced plans for what it’s calling “Reimagined Centers.” Others include Loveland, Colorado; Springfield, Missouri; Windsor Heights, Iowa; Garland, Texas; Rogers, Arkansas; Gresham, Oregon; and Long Beach, California.

On a website announcing the future plans, the retail giant said the Lee’s Summit location will have a “carefully curated” mix of local, regional and national restaurants, a driving range for golf enthusiasts, a “go-to” destination for nightlife and a wellness center.

The company plans to unveil the new offerings in a two-phase project.

No timetable was announced for the start of the project, which would still require approval from Lee’s Summit.
