KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church is sorting through hundreds of bags and boxes, filled with donations for victims of last month's Waldo Heights Apartment complex fire.

Waldo Pizza and District Pour House each are providing a truckload of donations, prompting the parish to ask the community to only bring specific items the displaced families still need:

  • Brooms.
  • Dishwasher detergent.
  • Microwaves.
  • Vacuum cleaners.
  • Laundry baskets.

Those interested in volunteering to help the parish get organized and serve the families as they come to shop, can sign up online.

For more information, contact Alice Arredondo at 785-550-1314 or Julie Fende at 913-221-4489.

Families are set to be placed in new housing this week.
