KANSAS CITY, Mo. — More than 100 cars passed by the home of Alvin Brooks for a birthday celebration on Sunday.
Brooks, the founder of Ad-Hoc Group Against Crime, said the social distancing celebration for his 88th birthday was exciting.
“There’s nothing like friends, you know that’s what friends are for...I just hope that I was able to make a little difference in other people lives,” Brooks said. “I know they certainly make a lot a differences in my life.”
Brooks also served as a Kansas City, Missouri, police officer and detective between 1954 and 1964 and and sat on the city council from 1999 to 2003.
