KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A North Kansas City restaurant has donated more than 7,000 meals to residents in the metro.
Partnerships with multiple organizations and agencies have allowed Chicken N Pickle to provide food to “first responders, families in crisis and those serving our pet population,” according to a news release.
Kelli Alldredge, senior vice president of engagement, said that due to the challenges the coronavirus pandemic has presented in the community, Chicken N Pickle has “an obligation” to make sure that basic needs are met.
“Our hearts are local is one of our key tenets,” Alldredge said in the release, “and during the pandemic, we remain committed to that core value. Since the shut-down we have served many organizations and we will continue to help serve our neighbors in need during this crisis.”
Chicken N Pickle has partnered with the following organizations, among others:
- Operation Breakthrough.
- Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.
- University of Kansas Medical Center.
- Wayside Waifs.
- Children’s Mercy Hospital.
The restaurant also had given meals to various hospitals, foster families, teachers and essential workers. It also has donated a percentage of sales on Tuesdays to five area organizations.
