KANSAS CITY, Mo. — During this time, two groups are looking out for some of the most at-risk and vulnerable residents in the Kansas City community.

Charlie Mike Theatre Company partnered with After Action Network on an effort called “Operation Cover Down KC For Veterans.”

The goal is to gather 2,000 masks for homeless veterans by May 20.

“Veterans that need to get access to the hospital that might be in a vulnerable age range ... they just don’t have access to be able to get these masks off the shelf,” After Action Network founder Joseph Williams said.

The plan is to get as many area seamstresses, businesses and individuals as possible to sew, donate and distribute masks to the veterans.
