KANSAS CITY, Mo. — American Legion Post 21 held a food drive in Independence on Wednesday.
The organization helps veterans in the area.
The legion accepted non-perishable food and hygiene products, and organizers said they are always looking for more donations.
“We could always use donations. Just bring them to the American Legion in Independence, Post 21, and we’ll sure take your donations,” Diana Brae said. “We really appreciate it and all the veterans will too.”
The legion said it had twice the demand in April compared to when it first opened the food pantry a few months ago.
