KANSAS CITY, Mo. — On Wednesday, people in Kansas City received some much-needed food amid the difficult times of the coronavirus pandemic.

KCMO Third District-at-Large Councilman Brandon Ellington took part in a drive-thru food distribution in partnership with Morning Star Baptist Church.

"When we talk about the amount of people who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19, we talk about the restrictions we’re seeing with fresh meat, we know the food chain, the food line is in jeopardy,” Ellington said. “We want to do everything we can to make sure people have food.”

Ellington has several more food distributions planned for this month. They will be held at the following dates and locations:

May 13
1-3 p.m.
Kingdom Word Ministries, 3301 Cypress Ave.

May 21
10 a.m. to noon
Victorious Life Church, 3400 Paseo Boulevard

May 29
1-3 p.m.
Paradise Baptist Church, 1600 E. 58th St.
