KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Hundreds of families received help in Independence thanks to the Salvation Army and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
The groups handed out 850 boxes of food Friday morning. Each family received a box with enough fresh and canned food for 20 meals.
