KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Some employees at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Overland Park received a sweet treat on Tuesday thanks to Venue508.
The Kansas City, Missouri-based wedding and entertainment venue gave doctors and nurses ice cream from Dairy Queen as a way to say “thank you” for their hard work and long hours during the coronavirus pandemic.
“We teamed up with Dairy Queen ice cream because I love their ice cream and they have big hearts,” said Julie Holmes with Venue508. “I wanted to bring the best to the doctors and nurses, and they absolutely wanted to help out the doctors and nurses.”
Despite being closed, Venue508 knew it was important to honor workers on the front lines.
